We launched LibCal's Interactive Mapping module in July, and this blog post announced an opportunity for users to try out a virtual "playground" to do just that... play! Academic, Public, and Community College Library examples were provided, plus a Campus-Wide mapping example for institutional use. Go and play!

The University of Liverpool switched from non-contributing to contributing in the global chat cooperative. As such, they learned a ton of useful tips about helping patrons around the world with their research questions... which in turn helped them become better reference librarians for their own patrons. In our carefully curated world, we often don't show our failures. But it's in the fails where we tend to learn the most, and that sentiment is true here at Springy HQ. We tried to encourage social engagement with a #LibLifeReality activity to share the realities of your library life to be featured in our March 2021 newsletter. Suffice it to say, we didn't get many submissions, so our plans derailed. But, we live and learn and we still donated to the Black Girls CODE non-profit and Oscar R. Lanza-Galindo matched our donation! So while our plan didn't work, the outcome was amazing.

LibCal Seats was a game-changer for libraries in 2020... helping them reopen by making it possible for patrons to book individual seats, check-in/out, with detailed records for contact tracing. 2021 was a big year for developing integrations between Springshare and other library tools, and we were so excited to announce our partnership with Lean Library. We started the year with LibGuides integration and ended with LibChat integration. Lean Library's browser plugin allows patrons to launch LibGuides/LibChat from any webpage.
