Cybersecurity was a big topic in 2022, and we take it very seriously here at Springy HQ! April 30th, 2007 marked the 15th anniversary of the first LibGuides install! That's right, if LibGuides were a person, it would be eligible for a learner's permit in many states. This blog post took a look back at the very first LibGuides system and shared some current stats about how many libraries and librarians we've had the opportunity to work with over the past decade and a half.

We were so excited to announce the brand new LibAnswers Chatbot earlier this year! Our exciting new Chatbot functionality is coming January 2023, and will be included as a standard part of the LibAnswers Platform. Chatbot can serve as the first point of contact for chat patrons, guiding them through options, and passing them on to a particular resource or staff member as needed.

ICYMI, we started offering live and recorded training sessions in Spanish this year! Springshare Tools are currently being used in 95 countries across the globe! As such, we’ve been working hard to expand our training and support offerings to reach even more of our customers. Our Spanish Language training sessions began in October with a lineup of LibAnswers and LibGuides. We’ll be adding LibCal, LibWizard, and other sessions in 2023.

We love seeing our Springy tools in action, and the Northeast State Community College Library's implementation of LibCal's Interactive Mapping tool was too impressive not to share! For this blog post, we reached out to their librarian, Amy Lippo, to learn more. We continue to be impressed with the way they used Interactive Maps to highlight staff offices, include staff pictures, contact information, and more!

We had a few great collaborations in 2022 and the LibChat integration with PowerNotes was one of our favorites. PowerNotes has a browser extension tool that helps researchers keep track of and organize all their research - including the ability to highlight areas of a webpage and write notes. If your library subscribes to LibChat and PowerNotes, your patrons can get help from a live librarian right from the PowerNotes browser plugin! This post shares all the details.
