We're popping in with some timely tips and tricks to get your Springshare tools prepped for staff vacations, school breaks, and holiday closures, so you'll be ready to hit the ground running in the new year!
A Message from the Springshare Team
During the holiday season, Springys like to spend as much time with family and friends as possible to get some much-needed R&R. This means we're minimally staffed throughout the company in the month of December! Please spread some holiday cheer by being patient as we work to answer your requests.
Springshare Support, Training, and Social will be closed:
Wednesday, December 24
Thursday, December 25
Thursday, January 1, 2026
During these dates, we'll be monitoring for emergencies only. All non-emergency questions will be answered when we reopen.
Reduced Support Hours:
Friday, December 26: 10am-3pm ET
Mon-Wed, December 29-31: 9am-3pm ET
Friday, January 2, 2026: 9am-3pm ET

Preparing LibAnswers, LibCal, and LibStaffer for Holidays and the New Year
Our stellar Support Team has crafted this handy-dandy Springboard with quick tips to help you ensure a smooth transition when your library is closed or has reduced hours of operation. Inside you'll find:
- LibAnswers How-To – By activating auto-responders for SMS messages, setting your Out of Office status, and more, you can make sure your patrons aren't left in the lurch when they submit tickets or chats.
- LibCal Prep – Check your hours exceptions, add alert boxes about schedule changes, update your Appointments availability, and you'll be good to go when the calendar rolls over into 2026!
- LibStaffer Tips – It can be tricky at this time of year to manage staff time-off requests while ensuring your service desks are covered. Let LibStaffer help!

Our help documentation is available anytime! If you have a specific inquiry in mind, take a look by product or topic and you may find the answers here. We also invite you to explore our archive of training session recordings and brush up on your professional development!
2. Leverage Round-the-Clock Chat Coverage
Our 24/7 Chat Cooperative offers reference chat service at all hours, with MLIS-degreed librarians ready and waiting to answer your patrons' questions even when you're closed. If you're interested in adding 24/7/365 chat coverage to your reference outreach, contact us. When we say 365 days a year, we mean it.
3. Explore SpringyU for Self-Paced Learning
If your library is particularly quiet during the holiday break, what an excellent time for some self-paced learning via SpringyU's bite-sized videos! This flexible platform has something for everyone, from beginner users to experienced admins.
4. Hang Out in the Springshare Lounge
Curious how folks are using A-Z Resource Lists or customizing their LibMaps hotspots? Need a hand with a tricky bit of custom code? The Springy Lounge is the place to be!
