Code Release: New Features Coming Your Way!
6:36

The October and November product releases are on their way! The majority of these releases will be live in all regions by the end of the day on Friday, October 30, 2026. The LibWizard and LibAnswers releases will be live in all regions by the end of the day on Friday, November 6, 2026.

LibAnswers

  • We're adding a new Open Hours option for each queue, which will leave your library’s closed hours out of your site's Time to First Reply and Time to Close turnaround statistics. Choose either “Open 24/7” (the default option) or set hours for each day of the week. Time to First Reply and Time to Close in your Quality of Service stats will only count open hours, and so will the reply timer staff see on the ticket dashboard. For example, if a ticket comes in Monday at 10am, you open at 2pm, and you reply at 3pm, the Time to First Reply is about 1 hour. Head to Admin > Queues > General to adjust your site’s Open Hours.

  • In case you missed it, to help combat bot spam in chat, we’ve recently added an option to include a simple checkbox captcha to indicate that the person starting a chat is a human. Head to Admin > LibChat Setup > Settings > Activate Captcha in Widgets to help cut down on bot spam!

  • In addition, in case you missed it, we’ve also recently added an option to block chat and ticket submissions coming from known Tor endpoints. Tor is often used by bots and spammers, because it helps to hide where their traffic comes from. Head to Admin > System Settings > Access Rules to block traffic from Tor endpoints automatically.

LibCal

  • You can now mark an event as cancelled instead of deleting it, so you keep the event record and its registrations while still being able to communicate clearly with your patrons. When you cancel an event, registered attendees and waitlist users get an email letting them know the event was cancelled, along with a customized reason that you provide, and future registration for the event closes. The event will no longer display by default in public calendar displays and widgets, but if a patron has bookmarked the event URL and visits after the event has been cancelled, they’ll continue to see the Event Details page, along with a note that the event has been cancelled. This makes weather closures and last-minute presenter cancellations much easier to handle. To cancel an event, click on the event and use the arrow next to Modify Event to Cancel/Delete Event.

  • With this release, you can now see aggregate responses to your event registration forms! Head to Stats > Events > Event Form Responses to see how patrons answered each question across all events. This report can be filtered by calendar, date range, audience, and more. To view the aggregate form responses for an individual event, head to Manage Event > Registrations > How to view registration form responses > analyze form responses.

  • We’ve added a new system-level setting to LibCal to indicate which of LibCal’s modules you’re actively using on the public side of the system. All systems will start off by indicating that all modules are in use - but if you’re not actively using a module, you can un-check it from the new setting. This will cause the default public side page for that module to 404, and its contents will be removed from your sitemap. To adjust these settings, head to Admin > System Settings > System Subscription.

LibConnect Pro

  • Add a Book: recommend a title in any email – You can now add a book to any email without building the block by hand. Enter an ISBN and LibConnect Pro pulls in the cover, title, author and description. Then make it yours: rewrite the description, swap in your own cover image, pick a layout, and we’ll automatically pull in the catalog link. You can find this in the email editor, under the Add Book tile.

  • Staff Picks, now built into LibConnect Pro - Curate your monthly recommendations right where you already build your emails. Pick a category and a month, add your books, and see everything in one place. You can find this in Content > Staff Picks.

  • We have an extensive buffet of bug fixes and additional improvements to share! Head to the Lounge post for all of the details.

LibGuides

  • The full administrative interface of LibGuides is now available in the Bootstrap 5 version! Pages that don’t have directly corresponding public pages – like System Settings, Accounts, and Metadata and URLs – will automatically transition to the new Bootstrap 5 interface. Other pages, including the dashboard, blogs, guide editor, etc. will now offer both a Bootstrap 3 (default) and Bootstrap 5 version.

  • Reordering content in the Bootstrap 5 version of the Guide Editor is now easier. Each item has a drag handle, and a menu lets you move items without dragging: move up, move down, make a page a sub-page, promote it back to the top level, or move a box to another column or page. Everything works with the keyboard and announces position changes for screen reader users.

  • We’ve made a bunch of additional improvements and bug fixes! Visit the Lounge post for all of the details.

LibWizard

  • Now, when you delete a field that already has responses, LibWizard moves it to the Trash Can instead of deleting it right away. Both the field and all of its responses are kept for 30 days, and you can restore them with one click. You can find and restore these deleted questions in Tools > Trash Can.

  • We have a tasty snack of additional improvements and bug fixes! Head to the Lounge post for more deets.
