The August product releases are on their way! These releases will be live in all regions by the end of the day on Friday, August 7, 2026.

LibAnswers

  • We’re adding details related to attempts at transferring chats to the chat transcripts, so you can now see the history of attempts to transfer each chat! Head to any chat transcript following the release to view the transfer history information.

  • We’ve added a Japanese language translation for the administrative portion of LibAnswers.

  • In this release we’re refactoring the chat dashboard for improved accessibility and function.

LibCal

  • We’re happy to introduce a new and improved weekly hours widget, which offers improved styling and a fully accessible experience. Even better, the new weekly hours widgets include a new toggle that will let you control whether to let users scroll to past hours, as well as an option for whether to include a link to “View All Hours.” You’ll find this new widget by visiting Admin > Widgets > Create Widget > Hours > Weekly Hours Calendar.

  • We’ve also improved the filtering options available when you create any type of hours widget, so it’s now much easier to show hours information for specific locations and departments. To see these new options in action, head to Admin > Widgets > Create Widget > Hours > Daily or Weekly Hours.

  • LibMaps has also added support for the BiblioCommons discovery layer!

LibConnect Pro

  • You can now connect your LibCal system directly to LibConnect Pro, to bring patron engagement data into your LibConnect Pro workflows. LibConnect Pro will sync LibCal event registrations, appointments, and space and equipment reservations to matching patron records; you’ll see all of this information listed in each patron’s History. You can build campaigns, automations, and reports around these details, making it easy to target information to patrons based on their real library engagement! Head to Settings > Plugins > LibCal Integration Settings to connect LibCal to LibConnect Pro.

  • Clearer default footer: “Manage Email Preferences” is now the default footer link across all email templates, replacing “Unsubscribe from List” as the correct option for marketing emails.

  • New shared email address setting: Configuration > Email Settings now includes a setting for households or accounts that share an email address. Choose whether an unsubscribe applies to every patron record sharing that address, or just the one that triggered it.

LibGuides

  • The database bulk import/export tool now includes the “Show In” visibility fields (A-Z List, LibGuides, Sublists), so you can manage where database assets appear across your whole collection at once instead of editing each asset individually.

  • Database click-through stats are now tracked correctly even when a database has its individual landing page enabled.

  • Default H2 headings are now larger than H3, restoring the expected heading hierarchy (H1 > H2 > H3 > H4) on sites using default styles.

LibSites/Patron Portal

  • In the LibAnswers content box, instead of only showing tickets that aren’t closed, patrons will now see a list of the 5 tickets with the most recent interactions (i.e. most recent patron or librarian reply), so they’ll never miss the latest reply. In addition, we’ve included information on the main portal screen to indicate who last replied to each ticket (Patron or Librarian), so it’s easier to determine when new replies are available.

  • Previously, the LibCal content boxes for Spaces, Events, Appointments and Equipment Booking would display a maximum of 3 upcoming bookings. Now, each LibCal content box will show a maximum of 5 upcoming bookings by default. If a patron has more than 5 upcoming bookings in any category, they’ll also see a “view more” link; this will open a modal window that lists all upcoming bookings.

  • In the LibCal events box, if an upcoming meeting is an online meeting, rather than showing the full meeting URL (which could prove tricky to click on), we’ll now show a handy “Join Meeting” button to help make it much clearer how to join the meeting.

LibStaffer

You now have the option to update the admin side of your LibStaffer system to use our new left navigation format! This new navigation provides a great style refresh for your LibStaffer system, and will help make navigation more intuitive and consistent for your users between Springshare’s products.

  • Admins can preview the new navigation option by visiting Admin > System Settings > Look & Feel > New User Interface and select “Preview New UI For Your User” - This allows you to navigate through the entire site in the new format, without impacting other users yet, so you can take things for a spin and create transition documentation for the rest of your staff.

  • To switch out of the preview, head back to System > Settings > Look & Feel > Back to Old Look.

  • To fully switch the navigation for your site for all users, admins can head to Admin > System Settings > Look & Feel > New User Interface and Activate New UI For LibStaffer.

You’ll see the ability to preview the new navigation option right on the LibWizard dashboard, so you can take things for a spin before making the switch. To fully switch the navigation for your site for all users, admins can head to Admin > System Settings > Look and Feel > New Navigation and Style and switch your site to Use Left-Menu Navigation.
