The June/July product releases are on their way! These releases will be live in all regions by the end of the day on Friday, July 10, 2026.

LibAnswers

The LibAnswers release will roll out to all regions by the end of the day on Friday, July 10, 2026.

  • Captcha Update – Captchas are a hugely useful and important tool to help you limit the amount of spam and bot messages sent to your library. With this release, we’re replacing the older, math-problem captcha with a more standard checkbox to indicate that the person submitting the question is not a bot. To add a captcha to your question form (and we recommend that you do!), admins can head to Admin > Queues > Edit Queue > Question Form > General Settings > Activate Captcha.

  • Query String Form Question Inserts – With this release, we’ve updated the standalone LibAnswers question form logic to support inserting information into the LibAnswers question form via the form’s query string. This makes it possible to grab information from the page where the form is linked from (like your discovery layer, library catalog, etc) and prefill that information into the LibAnswers question form fields.

  • Chat Widget Intro Text – We’re adding the ability to include publicly facing chat widget intro text; this text will appear in the chat widget intro screen, and shows beneath the chat widget’s name but above any text entry fields. This makes it easy to provide additional instructions and guidelines to folks who are using your chat service, including redirecting them to other services if they have non-library questions. To add intro text to any chat widget, head to LibChat > Chat Widgets > Add/Edit Widget > Look & Feel > Language Customizations.

LibConnect Pro

This release will be live in all regions by the end of the day on Friday, July 3, 2026.

  • From/Reply-To Domain Validation – LibConnect Pro now displays a validation warning when the From and Reply-To addresses belong to different domains. This helps catch configuration mismatches before an email is saved, reducing the risk of deliverability issues down the line.

  • Updated default install templates – The default email templates installed on customer sites have been replaced with more accessible, optimized versions. These new templates are built for better readability and compatibility out of the box.

We’ve also added a number of bug fixes! Head to the LibConnect Pro July Release Post in the Lounge for all of the details.

LibGuides

  • We’re bringing you one of the most popular feature requests of all time – tabbed boxes can now display as an accordion instead of tabs, which brings native accordion support to guides! Standard box types can be set to collapse/expanded by default, so your visitors can expand content on demand. Both settings are available in the box configuration panel and apply to Bootstrap 5 guides only.

  • Three new built-in page templates are now available: Resources List, Databases, and Resources Landing Pages! Create and edit a template specifically for each experience, and customize the header, footer, and page structure independently from the default templates provided. Head to Look & Feel > Page Layout to customize these pages.

  • We’ve added a new Custom Header & Footer option in the A-Z Resources List Settings. Use it to add custom content above and below your A-Z resource list; this will replace the existing system level header and footer with a custom header and footer just for that specific resource list. This is useful for adding context, instructions, or branding to your A-Z Resource pages.

This release will be rolling out to all regions by the end of the day on Friday, July 10th! Head over to the Lounge’s LibGuides July Release Post for all of the details.

LibSites

This release will be live in all regions by the end of the day on Friday, June 26, 2026.

  • Drop-in HTML Header Code – If your site has an institutional header that is routinely used by all websites associated with your library, good news; we’ve added a new component to the Header, Footer and Custom JS/CSS builder. In the builder, you’ll see a new Basic component option for Custom Header/Footer; just drag this component into the builder in the header or footer area, then drop in your institution’s custom header or code and you’re good to go!

  • Better Icon Stacking – We’ve improved the stacking behavior on mobile devices when displaying a series of buttons with text underneath; the text will no longer overlap with other buttons.

We’ve also made a number of accessibility improvements and bug fixes! For more details on these and more, head over to the Lounge’s LibSites June Release post!

LibStaffer and Incident & Issue Tracking

This release will be live in all regions by the end of the day on Tuesday June 30, 2026.

  • Patron Characteristics – We know how important it is to be able to quickly identify a patron based on their features, to help put a name to the face. We’ve added the ability to add high level identifying information about each patron, so you can add things like eye color, hair color, identifying marks, etc. To add characteristics, head to Incidents/Issues > Patrons DB > Edit Patron Profile > Physical Characteristics.

  • Multiple Images – Along those same lines, we’ve added the ability to upload multiple images for each patron, so it’s easy to add images of a given patron from multiple angles and/or different situations. Librarians can quickly scroll through these images when identifying a patron.

  • Notes – You can now add multiple notes for each patron, to help keep track of interactions and other details that all staff should be aware of. To add a note, head to Incidents/Issues > Patrons DB > View Patron Profile > Patron Notes.

  • Slack Notifications – We’ve added Slack integration for new Incident and Issue case reports, so it’s easy to stay on top of new case notifications right from within your Slack workspace.

Patron Point

This release will be live in all regions by the end of the day on Friday, July 3, 2026.

  • For libraries using the Koha ILS and sending notices through Patron Point (and LibConnect Pro) the Springshare-Koha plugin is now available. Using the plugin offers a number of important advantages over our previous Koha API-based model, including  Hold Cancellation notices, filtering of patrons by type for SMS notices, and better adherence to patron notice preference.

  • Accessibility Improvements – We've made important accessibility improvements to forms and landing pages, including adding appropriate language and page title declarations and announcing the submit status of the form.

  • Text Message Translations – Text messages now support per-language translations for segment and campaign sends, using the same translation pattern as Email.
