MIAMI (July 12, 2022) - Springshare and PowerNotes announced today that the LibChat library chat is now seamlessly integrated with PowerNotes, a tool designed specifically to manage the entire academic research process from discovery through writing.
With this integration, PowerNotes users are able to launch a live LibChat experience, powered by Springshare’s LibAnswers platform, right from their PowerNotes browser plugin or the PowerNotes project outline screen. When students are working on a research project or writing a paper, assistance from a librarian is now just a click away.
Wilson Tsu, Founder of PowerNotes, commented on the partnership.
"This partnership will continue to enhance our set of library-specific features tailored to bring the library to the patron, instead of relying on the patron to come to the library. We are excited to work with an industry leader like Springshare to add value for our users by connecting them to experts in the library through LibChat while also increasing the utilization of library services. This is a clear win for everyone.”
PowerNotes’ direct connection to LibChat makes it easy for patrons at PowerNotes partner schools to ask questions and get help when and where they need it the most - when they're doing research. This direct link to a research librarian at their institution ensures that patrons find trusted resources and accurate help.
“Springshare’s sole purpose is to help libraries and librarians better meet their users’ needs,” said Slaven Zivkovic, Springshare’s Founder & CEO. “Making LibChat available directly inside PowerNotes is a great example of how we help libraries connect with users at the point-of-need, thus improving access to library services and resources.”
Springshare software helps libraries engage with their communities and deepen relationships with users. Our SaaS suite is used by over 7,500 libraries in 106 countries around the world.
PowerNotes is a platform designed to manage the research, writing, and note-taking workflows. We help libraries bring their services to patrons by providing timely access to librarian help, surfacing library content when users search Google, streamlining information literacy instruction, and simplifying the citation process.
