Engaging staff training is essential for improving information retention. Our LibWizard platform allows libraries to design custom tutorials with multimedia, instant feedback, and accurate assessment. And the best part? It's super easy to set up and use! We recently spoke with Erika Westhoff and Laureen Cantwell-Jurkovic from Colorado Mesa University (CMU) about how they used LibWizard to train a cohort of student workers to take over shelving Government Documents.
CMU is home to Tomlinson Library, which houses an off-site specialty collection of government documents. When the employee who maintained this collection announced their retirement, a new system needed to be put into action—fast! Erika and Laureen found a solution by training student workers in SuDoc classification using LibWizard Tutorials.
Building the tutorial involved some research, studying, and testing, which took about three months from start-to-finish. Since implementation over a year ago, the tutorial has had great success with overwhelmingly positive feedback from their student workers. This exceptional training program has increased their manpower and drastically improved the process for retrieving government documents.
“LibWizard was incredibly intuitive and easy to learn along the way. We look forward to its continued development and enhancement to support training initiatives like this and other 'quizzing' functions.” - Erika Westhoff
In addition to tutorials, LibWizard offers flexible, cost-effective, forms, surveys, and quizzes for libraries. Reach out for demos, pricing, or real-world examples!
